When does the next episode of The Celebrity Traitors come out? It's going to be a bit of a wait for season 2 episode 5, unfortunately.

It's safe to say that The Celebrity Traitors has wasted little time in once again making a huge impression on UK audiences. The moment that Claudia Winkleman stepped out of a coffin like The Undertaker, it was clear that we were in for a campy, over-the-top, celebrity-filled dramatic masterpiece. And, so far, that dramatic masterpiece has not disappointed, with plenty of surprises, twists, and turns.

The show returned to screens just over a week ago and it has returned for this week's installments too. However, after two back-to-back episodes aren't setting a precedent as there will once again be a bit of a wait for the next installment. Sorry to be a Traitor about it: But it's very true.

The Celebrity Traitors season 2 episode 5 release date

The Celebrity Traitors season 2 episode 5 will air on BBC One next Thursday, October 15, at 8:00 p.m. BST (while also being available to stream on BBC iPlayer from that same time). Yes, the show has once again embarked on its end-of-week hiatus, taking a break for the weekend and the first part of the week. Claudia's previous hosting gig, the legendary Strictly Come Dancing, will replace it on the BBC One schedule on Saturday and Sunday night, while the channel's typical weekly programming holds the timeslot for the rest of the week.

In an era of streaming and broadcast, the BBC's chosen release schedule for The Traitors franchise is a bit of an anomaly, but it works extremely well for the show. Instead of airing one weekly episode, the channel airs two across Thursdays and Fridays, satisfying those of us who like a little bit more content all at once while also respecting the classic weekly release format that it - and so many other networks - have employed over the years with so many TV shows.

To absolutely nobody's surprise, the show has been an edge-of-seat thrill-ride once again this series - which is an incredible statement to make considering that we are just four episodes in. But the big shock that the season opened on - Richard E. Grant outing himself as a Traitor and then subsequently getting banished at the first Roundtable - made for absolutely must-see television. It's no surprise that the series has opened to the franchise's strongest ever premiere-episode numbers (a whopping 8.9 million viewers tuned into the premiere) and it's another reason why the weekly waits for new episodes is so difficult.

The good thing with The Celebrity Traitors - and the civilian series, for that matter - is that the six-day wait is always worth it. And after the surprise murders and banishments in this week's episodes, you can rest assured that viewers are counting down the days until the next two installments next week.
