The Rookie has been getting intense in their crime-fighting week after week, building up to something out of the officers' control. In The Rookie season 7, episode 5, titled "Til Death," the situation might accelerate to that point as fear is the defining element.
Who's to say that we haven't been in fear with season 7? Nolan has been pursuing an escaped convict who's after his wife, Bailey, which placed a good amount of stress between the two of them. After serving her duty in Germany, she'd return to a relaxed home environment, but that's isn't the case. Now, Bailey is on the fight for her life, with her husband keeping an eye on her safety and the convict.
Meanwhile, Lucy is at the top of her suspicion game, as she feels Seth is hiding something other than his illness. I have a few questions about the new rookie myself. If Seth is truly sick, why does the LAPD employ him, and why has Lucy not reported his supposed illness yet, which will end his career?
I hate to be judgmental, but something seems off about Seth. He might not be who others see him as—except Lucy. Everything (except that surprise rescue) that Seth has done since his first day was wrong, and I have no idea why he's still on the team at this point.
Previewing The Rookie season 7, episode 5, "Til Death"
Things couldn't get any more dangerous than they are on the ABC drama, but they do. In fact, the situation gets so bad that the LAPD has to bring in a member of the FBI to help them catch a killer who seems to be outsmarting everyone while making Los Angeles a less-than-pleasurable place to live and thrive.
No one knows who the killer could be, despite having a map of their victims and possible suspects. This scenario adds another level of suspense for the team because the more this person is on the loose, the more lethal they'll become and the more challenging to catch.
As if to add another problem to the LAPD, Bailey gets struck by a car, causing Nolan to drop everything so he can rescue his wife. We don't know if her injuries are critical or minor, but it's pretty frightening to even comprehend.
