FBI: Most Wanted fans may have been surprised at the lack of Nina in the newest episode?! Who was replacing her and is she sticking around?

Caution: This episode contains SPOILERS for FBI: Most Wanted Season 6 Episode 10

The latest episode of FBI: Most Wanted opened with the team enjoying a quiet morning getting coffee. They discussed the absence of Nina (Shantel VanSanten), as the previous episode had ended with her getting word that her sister was in the hospital after a beating from her husband. Thus, Nina was tending to her family.

The team’s quiet morning was ruined when they saw a man murder a random woman and give chase. This led to the discovery of two disturbed youths playing a twisted “game” where they would live-stream killing random people for “points.”

Aiding the team was Jill Potts (Teri Wyble), a computer specialist agent who helped them track the killers down. It was a typical wild case, but it ended with the team catching the killers, and Nina may have been grateful to avoid this mess.

Why was Nina not in FBI: Most Wanted season 6, episode 10?

Some viewers may have been surprised at Nina’s absence. However, it was already related before the season began that it was quite likely some actors wouldn’t be present in every episode due to budgetary reasons. It’s typical for shows with larger casts to give an actor a break now and then to save money.

It should also be noted that Nina did pop up on a recent FBI episode where she and her boyfriend Scola (John Boyd) bonded more. That meant VanSanten had to do double duty on both series. Having Nina needing time off for this family emergency seems the best way to explain her absence.

It won’t be for long as previews show Nina will be back with the team for Episode 11 and likely more focused on the job.

Is Jill sticking around?

Throughout the episode, there was a clear chemistry between Jill and Barnes, who had just noted her own mother had signed her up for a dating app. With her divorce long settled, Barnes was thinking of going into the dating scene again.

At the end of the episode, Jill dropped off some files and then admitted she had come over just to see Barnes as she’d heard she was single. Barnes agreed to just a drink but as the episode ended, the pair were at her apartment getting hot and heavy.

So we may see more of Jill around as she and Barnes try to decide if this is a one-time fling or maybe something more serious. The actresses did get along well, and it’s good to finally see Barnes back in good spirits, as her divorce did a number on her.

We might see more of Jill helping the team and it’d be nice to show Barnes moving on with a new relationship. So Nina’s brief absence may have opened the door for another character to join FBI: Most Wanted to make this show more entertaining than ever.

FBI: Most Wanted Season 6 airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on CBS.
