Lin-Manuel Miranda joined James Corden to “let the sunshine in” during the latest performance of Crosswalk the Musical, and it’s a masterpiece.

James Corden‘s hit webseries, Crosswalk the Musical, aims to provide angry and tired people sitting in LA traffic with fun, musical entertainment. The idea is simple: put on a musical in short segments on Beverly Blvd., but with a dynamic cast and only 20 seconds to perform each “act,” Crosswalk the Musical is a hilarious take on some of your all-time favorite shows.

La La Land may have initiated 2017’s love for musical theater while sitting in traffic, but James Corden takes it to a whole new level, and this week he had Lin-Manuel Miranda as the Berger to his Claude.

More from CBS

This week, Lin-Manuel Miranda was in Los Angeles for the opening of Hamilton at the Pantages theater, and he reunited with Corden for a special one-time only performance of Hair in the CBS crosswalk!

Miranda participated in a TONYs episode of Carpool Karaoke last summer, and we were so excited to see the duo reunite for another hilarious performance.

Back in the 60s, Hair was a very controversial musical not only because of its political themes, but also — as Corden points out in the video — for its nudity.

It’s against the law in the state of California, but that didn’t stop James Corden and Lin-Manuel Miranda (so it would seem) from stripping down on the streets of LA. Armed with wigs, tie-dye, and the power of red street lights, the cast was ready to take over the crosswalk!

Watch the video below to see performances of “Aquarius”, “Hair”, and “Let The Sunshine In”. Even if you’re not a fan of musicals, you’ll love the costumes, humor, synchronized dance moves and shocked faces of the roped-in audience.
