Happy Star Wars day! The Last Jedi opens in select theaters tonight. Two of the most asked questions are — how important Carrie Fisher’s role as Leia is in the movie, and if her daughter Billie Lourd plays a bigger part.

How involved is Fisher’s Leia? As much as trailers and promotional photos have teased? And what about her daughter, Billie Lourd? Did she get more screen time as Lieutenant Connix? We’ve got answers…

Yes, we will see a lot more of Lourd. Lieutenant Connix is one of the first characters we see and she continues to appear throughout the film. Her role in the movie is even important in some scenes. So while Connix is still a minor character, she’s steps more into the spotlight in this movie.

As for Carrie Fisher’s Leia, without going into heavy details and spoilers, Leia is extremely important. Let’s not forget she is highly respected and admired by the Resistance. To the Resistance, she is their hope. This couldn’t be more true in The Last Jedi.
