Supernatural has released a second promo for the winter premiere and there are more takeaways to gain.

After the first promo and the synopsis, I thought we’d gained everything we could from the episode. However, The CW has released a second promo trailer for the episode. This time it’s slightly longer with a little more of a look at what our favorite Winchester brothers are going to face.

SPN Hunters has broken down the trailer for you, spotting signs of things to come. Here are the four takeaways.

More from Supernatural

#1. It’s going to focus on Claire

While fans know that the winter premiere is a continuation of the Wayward Sisters backdoor pilot, the promo trailer goes one step further in giving fans an idea of character focus. After all, the spin-off is going to focus on six women. Going from a show with two leads originally that’s going to be a big jump.

It shouldn’t be that surprising that Claire Novak seems to be the biggest focus. The cheesy voiceover of Claire (which is a lot like Oliver Queen’s voiceover in Arrow) makes it clear that it is going to mostly be about her. Considering she’s the one that will connect most with Kaia Nieves, that’s definitely not a big surprise.

My personal big hope is that it doesn’t solely focus on her. I’m more of a Jody Mills fan.

#2. There’s the focus on the Winchesters saving others

Claire makes a point in the trailer to say that the Winchesters have saved her in the past. Now it’s time for her to return the favor. This is a running theme for the Supernatural spin-off. Jody, Donna, Claire and Alex have all been saved by the Winchesters at least once. Even Patience has been saved by Dean. The only one who doesn’t have that motivation to save the Winchesters is Kaia (and I wouldn’t blame her for not wanting to save Dean).

The whole spin-off cast will rally together to find the Winchesters. They owe it to them for every sacrifice they’ve made. It will also be quite sweet to see the tables turned.

#3. Nobody knows where the Winchesters are

Another part of the voiceover tells fans that the Winchesters “are missing.” The last fans saw of Jody, she was trying to call the Winchesters to find out where they were. When she realizes they’re missing, she’ll call in the Calvary to make sure they find out their location and save them before it’s too late.

Having the Winchesters missing gives the backdoor pilot chance to develop. The women can sit around the books and laptops, discussing what could have possibly happened. They can learn about Kaia and slowly find out all the information they need, rather than just jumping straight into the action. It keeps the whole storyline more believable.

#4. There’s something else in the Bad Place

While fans have seen the giant foot and heard the growls, very little is known about the Bad Place. There are certainly plenty of theories about where the Winchesters are. Maybe fans will learn, as there appears to be something else in this dimension. There’s a hooded figure poking at a gigantic skull.

The big question is whether this hooded figure is friend or foe? If a friend, the Winchesters could get a few answers about the place. If foe, chances are this figure is the one that tied the Winchesters up (from the last promo) and is serving dinner. Maybe the keeper of the Shedim?
