In the latest episode of Supernatural, Asmodeus made it clear that Donatello must tell him what he translates from the demon tablet. Will he tell him first? Or will the Winchesters get first dibs on the news?

In Supernatural’s latest episode, “Devil’s Bargain,” The Winchesters have moved on to their newest scheme to get their mom, and now Jack, out of the alternate world. When Cas reunited with them, he filled them in on how Lucifer escaped. He told them about Other Kevin and the angel tablet. That put an idea into the brother’s heads.

The next thing we saw was Donatello being brought in to find the same ritual in the demon tablet. Easy peasy, right? Not in Supernatural world. Asmodeus got wind of the prophet, so he tracked him down. And then he proceeded to order Donatello to tell him when he finds something in the tablet. The question now is: will Donatello tell the Winchesters before Asmodeus? Or will he skip the Winchesters and only tell Asmodeus?

Mind tricks

Why in the world did the Winchesters leave Donatello alone? In the past when they housed Kevin, they never left him alone. They always had him guarded. I know, they have bigger fish to fry with Lucifer, but couldn’t they have taken Donatello with them and planted him in a motel room? On the other hand, why in the world did Donatello leave the bunker? Were those chicken wings that important? (I’m sure he would say yes, yes they were). Whatever the reasons, Donatello was found by Asmodeus, and he has now had something done to his mind. Asmodeus wants to know whatever Donatello knows about the demon tablet.

What’s not clear is does Asmodeus’  mind trick allow for Donatello to tell the Winchesters what he finds out at all?

Betrayal

This is Supernatural so odds are they are setting it up so Donatello will unwillingly betray the Winchesters. In one way or another. Even if he can relay what he translates from the tablet to Sam and Dean, he still has to tell Asmodeus. Whether he’s aware of the fact that he has to tell Asmodeus consciously is unknown.  Either way, eventually he will tell Asmodeus, and it will be a race to see who will open the portal first. Or try and take Lucifer’s grace first.

The question will then be: will Sam and Dean blame Asmodeus and his tricks or Donatello for this betrayal? If Donatello isn’t aware of the mind trick, he won’t be able to explain why he passed along the information to Asmodeus, which will lead the Winchesters to blame him. If he does remember the meeting with Asmodeus, the brothers may still place some blame on Donatello, especially if they gave him directions to not leave the bunker.
