After the big reveal at the end of Supernatural Season 13, Episode 13, there are now many questions over what will happen in the future. One of those is how the Winchesters will react when they learn of the big twist.

Asmodeus has an ace up his sleeve. Well, two actually. Not only has he found an archangel blade, but also an archangel to wield that blade. Of course, the archangel was supposed to be dead. The Winchesters and Castiel still believe he is.

Now that it’s revealed Gabriel is still alive, people want to know how the Winchesters will react to hearing the news. It’s likely that Ketch will reveal the information, since Ketch is currently the only person/being that knows all about Gabriel in the dungeon. But what will the Winchesters do once they know?

Shocked and surprised

The biggest reaction is likely the surprise and shock that Gabriel is still alive. They will certainly have questions about how this is possible. Hopefully, Ketch will have those answers—or maybe someone else will have those answers for them. Castiel may also feel a little guilt that he didn’t realize Gabriel was still alive. Even the Winchesters may feel guilty that they’ve just assumed he’s been dead this whole time.

There may also be suspicion. How do they know that this is the real Gabriel? How does anyone know that this is the real Gabriel? Right now, we just have Asmodeus’ word for it.

They’ve got enough to deal with right now

There is the possibility that the Winchesters will ignore the situation at first. They’ll push it to the back of their mind, focusing on the more pressing problems at hand.

As much as they would love to save him, they’ve got way too much on their plate. And is it really up to the Winchesters to save everybody? Especially an angel that wasn’t the most pleasant of angels they came across. Sure, he eventually sacrificed himself for them, but he tormented them multiple times before that. He made Sam live through Dean’s death 100 times and then made them live in multiple TV shows.

Quite honestly, stopping Michael from getting into the world, saving Mary and Jack and preventing another apocalypse from happening are important right now. They need to consolidate their efforts on that, because managing efforts elsewhere in the past has led to everything going wrong.

This would be a good chance for Ketch to prove he’s on the Winchesters’ side. Maybe he can save Gabriel, while the Winchesters tackle the other world and Lucifer problem.
