The Magicians has wrapped the episode before the musical number and there are now some burning questions. Just where will we see our heroes next?

The Magicians Season 3 has been on fire. The Quest for the Seven Keys has (expectantly) not been easy. There have been twists and turns with each moment, but this latest key has been the most troublesome of all so far. After initially getting his hands on it, Quentin lost it to a dragon and the latest episode was mostly focused on the retrieval.

Of course, there was a clip in Fillory with poor Margo and Eliot and then a bit at Brakebills. The stories meshed together bring up a number of questions for the last handful of episodes of the season. Here are the most burning questions from The Magicians Season 3, Episode 8.

Why did the Seer look so much like Alice?

Penny couldn’t get over the fact that the woman writing the books looked so much like Alice. Despite everyone telling him she wasn’t Alice, he wouldn’t believe it. And we can’t believe that either. After all, Alice is currently searching for knowledge and she’s getting herself in trouble in the Library right now.

Is it possible that Alice’s fate is to become the person to write all the books? Or is this an Alice from another dimension? Maybe it’s a future Alice that took a different path, similar to Quentin and Eliot’s alternate path that led to Quentin having a son and Eliot dying on the search for a key.

Why does Irene see fairies?

Fen made an excellent point about fairies. Only those that have made deals with them can see fairies. So, how exactly can Irene see them and does that have something to do with her ability to (presumably) grind their bones to make fairy dust?

What would the Fairy Queen gain by making this type of deal; to lose her fairies in this way? Maybe this links to the Fairy Queen’s need to have more children. The Fairy Queen will know that her kind are dying and this could spell hell for her. But this could also be just the ticket Fen needs to save her husband.

Speaking of Fen’s husband…

How will Eliot and Margo escape this?

Nobody knows that they’ve been imprisoned by this Peasants’ Revolt. Well, the Fairy Queen does, but she’ll see this has a positive thing for her. The world of Fillory knows about her, so she can rule without them.

Just how will the two escape imprisonment. Has Eliot done enough to save their lives with that short speech?

Hopefully we will see more of this world in the next episode. The musical clip “Under Pressure” did include them, so there’s certainly hope.

Is there any hope for Penny now?

Penny was finally caught because of Sylvia’s turncoat actions. The Library has him in their hands and it looks like this is it. He’ll have to do the work set upon them, because of that pesky, awful contract. What does it mean for him moving forward and is there any chance that he’ll be able to get back to help his friends?

Kady is clearly going to be the one to help push forward with a plan to help him. Maybe Julia and Alice will be involved to make him a body to astral project back in, but does that get around the fact that he’s died. This is just an astral form of him.

There is the chance that he’ll learn more about the Library having access to the fairy dust, somehow. He can continue working with that.

What’s happened to Victoria and Harriet?

Victoria and Harriet were in the mirror bridge when one of the mirrors was smashed. Does this mean that the other mirror smashed too? Did the bridge get destroyed? If so, what will happen to Harriet and Victoria now?

The Magicians certainly took a risk with multiple scenes in silence, telling it all from Harriet’s view. It was beautifully done, helping us learn more about her and why she knows the Library so well. What nobody has explained is all the dangers of the mirror bridges.

Could there possibly be a way for Harriet and Victoria to communicate through the mirrors. This would give Harriet the chance to share about her find with Kady and the others.
