Many movie fans binge-watched several Oscar nominated films leading up to the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 4. There are many ways to watch, and you still can, from renting the movie online to catching it in theaters.

Below, you’ll find the top 10 movies of the weekend. Do you think the Oscar-nominated movies appear on the top 10 or are there too many brilliant new movies (Black Panther, Red Sparrow, others) that captured all the attention? Let’s take a look!

March 2 – March 4 top 10 movies at the box office:

  1. Black Panther$65.7 million
  2. Red Sparrow: $17 million
  3. Death Wish$13 million
  4. Game Night: $10.7 million
  5. Peter Rabbit: $10 million
  6. Annihilation: $5.6 million
  7. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle: $4.5 million
  8. Fifty Shades Freed: $3.3 million
  9. The Greatest Showman: $2.6 million
  10. Every Day: $1.5 million

The only Oscar nominated film spotted on the Top 10 is The Greatest Showman, which received a nomination, but did not win, for Best Original Song. This weekend, the movie, starring Hugh Jackman, collected $2.6 million, for a worldwide total of $375.8 million. Not bad for a reported budget of $84 million.

Where are the other nominees? Let’s dive deeper down the countdown. The Shape of Water can be found at number 11 with $1.4 million for the weekend, increasing its total to $126.4 million.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri gathered $1.2 million, settling at number 13 now with a grand total of $131 million. Number 14 holds Call Me By Your Name with $919,926, worldwide total is now $32 million. The Post is at number 15 with $915 thousand ($147.2 million total). Phantom Thread sits at number 16 with $590 thousand (total of $38 million). Darkest Hour earned $570 thousand and is found at number 17 (total $138.5 million). At 18 is I, Tonya with $561 thousand ($28.9 million). And finally, Lady Bird is at number 19 with $532 thousand (total $58.3 million). Some of those sums may not seem like much compared to other movies, but Oscar-worthy films are usually not major blockbusters.
