Once Upon a Time star Ginnifer Goodwin lines up ABC pilot Steps

Once Upon a Time star Josh Dallas isn’t the only one lining up a pilot. His wife and former co-star gets one of her own.

Josh Dallas was the first of the former Once Upon a Time stars to line up a new show. Now his wife and former co-star has landed a pilot of her own, but while he’s jumping ship (or plane) to NBC, she’s opting to stick with ABC. Ginnifer Goodwin has bagged the lead role on Steps.

Goodwin’s new pilot certainly sounds interesting and she’s opting for the comedy route instead of the drama. She’ll play Bea, who’s described as a “modern hippie in tune with her spirit.” Bea is a woman who understand others (the majority of the time), which is helpful when she’s dealing with three kids, her new husband, her ex-husband, and her ex-husband’s ex-wife. If that wasn’t tricky enough, they live in three houses and will raise the three kids together.

See? It definitely sounds interesting.

The series is a version of the Swedish sit-com Bonus Family.

Honestly, it’s going to be good to see Goodwin back on the screen. Now we just need her to return to Once Upon a Time for the Series Finale. The show has not been the same without her or her husband, who played Snow and Prince Charming respectively. However, it does sound like Bea is going to be a little like Snow, with the nurturing, empathetic side that helps to connect to those around her.

There’s no information about when Steps will air. Right now, this is a pilot in the pre-production stage for ABC.
