In last week’s episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, “Safe House,” Jake became the personal bodyguard of Captain Holt’s husband, Kevin, after mob boss Seamus Murphy threatened his life. Captain Holt had Kevin put into one of the precinct’s safe houses with Jake while the rest of the Nine-Nine worked on bringing in Seamus.

An ordeal that lasted several months, it began to take a take on the two of them. It did end well with Seamus being finally being arrested but it was almost the end of the road for both Jake and Holt as they were captured by the mobster. If it wasn’t for Kevin saving the day, the two would have been six feet under by now.

In this week’s episode, “The Negotiation,” things are a little bit back to normal for everyone at the Nine-Nine.
