5 Movies to watch on Netflix in April

Get ready for weekends of movie watching! Netflix is releasing several movie favorites as well as Netflix Originals!
A new month means Netflix’s menu of TV and movies is about to receive an update! And lucky for us, we’re receiving a lot more Original programming in April than March, this means our April weekends are filled. Cancel all plans! Tuesday, April 6, is a particularly busy one for the streaming service, with not one or two, but three films premiering that day!
Close the blinds, grab a large bucket of popcorn, and get comfy on your couch — here are five Netflix Original movies not to miss…
Sun Dogs (April 6)
Nothing is going to stop Ned Chipley from reaching his dream of saving lives. Sun Dogs is a heartwarming film and packed with a star-studded cast that includes Ed O’Neill, Allison Janney, Jennifer Morrison, and more.

Dude (April 20)
Lucy Hale has been a busy bee after the conclusion of Pretty Little Liars. The actress currently stars in The CW’s Life Sentence, and is the lead in the upcoming horror Truth or Dare, in theaters April 12. Dude also stars Kathryn Prescott, and Alexandria Shipp.
Synopsis: Four best girlfriends negotiate loss and major life changes during the last two weeks of high school in this coming-of-age comedy.
Amateur (April 6)
An inspirational and very timely (March Madness) movie for more than just fans of the sport.
Synopisis: 14-year-old basketball phenom Terron Forte has to navigate the under-the-table world of amateur athletics when he is recruited to an elite NCAA prep school.
6 Balloons (April 6)
Abbi Jacobson and Dave Franco are getting serious, and very intense. The two team up in 6 Balloons and ditching the jokes! 6 Balloons looks like the tear-jerker movie of the month. Don’t miss it!
Synopsis: Over the course of one night, a woman drives across LA with her heroin addict brother in search of a detox center, with his two year old daughter in tow.
The Week Of (April 27)
Since 6 Balloons is sure to make you cry, be sure to watch Adam Sandler and Chris Rock’s The Week Of.
Synopsis: The comedy tells the story of a devoted, middle class father (Adam Sandler) determined to pay for his daughter’s wedding despite the prodding of the wealthier father of the groom (Chris Rock). A series of calamities forces the dads (and their families) to come together and endure the longest week of their lives.
