Lethal Weapon: Top 5 Moments of Frankie Comes to Hollywood

When Lethal Weapon left off, Roger (Wayans) and Trish Murtaugh (Keesha Sharp) had just reconciled and figured out what to do with kids. Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford), on the other hand, had just revealed to Molly Hendricks (Kristen Gutoskie) why he cut things off. Dear old Dad sent out a hit on Molly’s dog, and no amount of therapy with Dr. Maureen Cahill (Jordana Brewster) would help Riggs keep them safe.
Moving forward, Riggs and Murtaugh will have to juggle home life and their jobs just like they always have: hilariously and carefully.
A new hit-man emerges
Flashbacks are perfect for Lethal Weapon. There is such a rich, deep history for the two main characters. Seeing Roger on the beat as a regular cop, dressed in all blue, was great. He runs in to a man named Frankie Kelso (Jude Ciccolella) who gets the drop on him and could easily have pulled the trigger.
The team finds a new murder, and Murtaugh knows the M.O. immediately. Because Murtaugh has been following the guy for 16 years. In fact, he’s tracked Kelso since Riana’s (Chandler Kinney) birth.

He also contaminates the murder scene while grandstanding. The crew later chases him down and Riggs gets a chance to pursue in the most fun manner possible.
Roger missed Riana’s birth
The intro to the show is equally quick and humorous. Trish and Roger have a quick phone call as she goes into labor with Riana. The hilarious part is when Roger promises not to miss another birth like he did with RJ. He tells her to close her legs, and she half laughs and half scolds Roger as she grimaces in pain. It fits their relationship perfectly.
Stockholm Syndrome
Riggs delivered the line of the episode when questioning Murtaugh about Kelso. “This guy pees in front of you and all the sudden you’re Patty Hearst!” Even Captain Avery (Kevin Rahm) has to snicker at the line.
The “Soup Test”
Roger and Riana go out for some test driving before her driving test. He’s overbearing and she’s not a good driver. Anyone who knows their relationship can deduce a quick end to the lesson. Riana opens the door and ghost-rides the whip.
She eventually passes, but Roger is ambivalent.
Lavender is the clue.
Murtaugh and Riggs will always be at odds. Yin and yang. How they argue is brilliant. Apparently there has been more than one time when Riggs didn’t feel like someone wasn’t a killer because of their smell. “No killer smells like lavender,” is how Riggs defends his position.
On the next Lethal Weapon expect Riggs and Murtaugh to continue battling crime and revisiting people from their past. Riggs might get closer to his father, and Murtaugh will probably anger Trish in some way. Formulaic? Maybe. Perpetually entertaining? Absolutely.

When Lethal Weapon continues, expect more family life to interfere or at least mingle with investigations. Some might find the formulaic nature difficult or boring, but it’s anything but. In fact, it’s one of the most relatable sitcoms on TV.
