A new Venom movie trailer just dropped and it seems fans were quite enthused by it. Will the Spider-verse start off with an anti-hero and go from there?

The second installment of the new Venom trailer dropped, according to ComicBook.com, and it features the investigative reporter Eddie Brock. So far this introduction has me intrigued as well as other fans according to the comments made on social media. Of course, you’ll get those overly critical fans that get irked by how the trailer pronounced “symbiote” (tomato, to-mah-toe?), but some have a legitimate gripe regarding the presence of Spider-Man.

Last year, Geek reported that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will have no part in this flick. However, this past January there had been rumors of his appearance, according to Collider via Movie Talk.

One of the show’s commentators, Jon Schnepp, revealed what he heard.

"“Spider-Man is going to be in Venom. For the last couple of months, we’ve been hearing how Sony is keeping it all separated, and Spider-Man is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but every other character that’s in the Spider-Man universe is separate. All I’m saying is that Spider-Man—and I’m talking about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man—is going to be in Venom.”"

Schnepp further reinforced his beliefs since he also noted how Marvel Studios kept saying Spider-Man won’t be appearing in Captain America: Civil War, according to Express. However, that’s changed obviously. He thinks that Peter Parker may make an appearance to tease the character.

After I saw the trailer, there were quite a few fans satisfied with it. However, others were unsure. Finally, the naysayers thought that a lacking Spider-Man isn’t on par with the origin story. The Secret Wars run had the symbiote latch onto Parker. It later made its way to Eddie Brock. Fans may not be on board with this, but if Jon is right, the movie could get more comic accurate.

The Venom movie debuts come October.
