It’s the Bachelor/ette party of all Bachelor/ette parties on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Amy plays “Never have I ever” for the first time and Captain Holt makes a “Title of My Sex Tape” joke!

It was a Nine-Nine Bachelor/ette style party in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Bachelor/ette Party.” A party that Boyle had been planning, not from when Jake asked him to be his best man but for the past ten years. That’s before Jake had even met Amy.

Amy’s bachelorette party was going for the more sophisticated experience but that was never going to happen. Not because Rosa and Gina were there, but because Hitchcock and Scully were. Something about losing a bet with Jake meant they were to go to Amy’s bachelorette party rather than Jake’s bachelor party.

Boyle and the Bach Boys

Boyle pulled out all the stocks for Jake’s bachelor party. There were limos involved, steak, fanny packs, calling themselves “The Bach Boys,” whiskey, gold coins and even an appearance from Sgt Powell, Reginald VelJohnson, from Die Hard, Jake’s favorite movie.

It was just a shame Boyle went full on Boyle. He decided to turn the bachelor party into a scavenger hunt. One that would take over six hours to complete and was almost impossible to crack. Especially when Boyle stages his own kidnapping leaving a very hungry Terry and a Captain Holt who was trying to get into the Bachelor party spirit by making “Title of My Sex Tape” jokes.

So it was not surprising to watch Jake, Terry and Holt give up after the very first hurdle. Instead, Terry hacked Boyles email, learned where the end of the scavenger hunt was and the three of them went off to and eat steak and drink whiskey for the next six hours before meeting with Boyle.

Later in the day, when they meet up with Boyle again, stuffed full of steak and drunk on whiskey, they do a half decent job convincing Boyle they actually did the scavenger hunt. Their story begins to fall to pieces however and Boyle gets very upset and leaves the party.

Feeling terrible, Jake, Terry, and Holt track down Boyle with the aid of Reginald VelJohnson. When they find Boyle he is still mad. But an emotional moment happens between the two best friends.

Boyle tells Jake about the concerns he has about everything changing once he marries Amy. Jake, feeling for his friend, is honest. Of course, it is going to change. But they will stay friends.

Amy and “never have I ever”

In an effort to make the party more exciting, Rosa begins a game of “never have I ever.” It’s a disaster. Amy has not taken a single drink yet and Scully has gotten so drunk he needs to go the hospital to get his stomach pumped. Amy just doesn’t break the rules.

Rosa and Gina tease her about her rule-abiding ways. Amy gets a bit annoyed about this so tells everyone about the time she had a one night stand with the lead singer of a band that was playing at her friend’s wedding.

Sounds pretty non-Amy and it’s all very impressive apart from that same band has been hired to play at Amy and Jakes wedding. Jake heard she liked the band so he hoped it would be a nice surprise for her, not quite understanding why she liked the band.

So it’s off to cancel the band. The only problem is when they find the lead singer he is still obsessed with Amy. Turns out it wasn’t a one night stand but a three-month relationship. The other problem is it will cost $15,000 to cancel according to the contract Jake signed.

So there is nothing for it now. Amy needs to do everything Amy wouldn’t do to stop him. With the help of Hitchcock and Scully (they are now back from getting their stomachs pumped) Gina and Rosa, they instigate their master plan of canceling the contract.

Hitchcock and Scully distract, Gina acts as a lookout, and Rosa searches for the contract in his bag. But there is no contract. He is keeping it on his possession at all times now and when he waves it in the air, taunting Rosa, Amy swoops in, snatches out his hand and runs.

She runs on top of the bar, yells out free shots and everyone in the bar surrounds her. She starts giving out free shots and burning the contract with a candle yelling in triumph.

Shame it ended with Amy falling off the bar and cracking her head on the bar stool. But, the contract is no more, the day has been saved and now Amy has a “never have I ever:” Hire a person you dated to play at your wedding, then cancel them by stealing their contract, burning it in front of them, dancing on top of the bar giving out free shots, falling off and possibly giving yourself a concussion.

The after party

The Nine-Nine Bachelor/ette parties meet up later and swap stories about their night. All of them are sufficiently drunk but it’s ok, they have Reginald VelJohnson to take them home.
