Cloak & Dagger new trailer: What to expect from the show
Cloak & Dagger is next up in Marvel’s slate of television shows. Check out the latest trailer.
Cloak and Dagger are characters in the Marvel universe that have been around since the 80s. They made their first appearance in Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #64 in 1982. They’ve been associated with the X-Men, the Runaways and the New Warriors.
With Runaways being on Hulu already, it would be great to see the two shows crossover, but we won’t get too far ahead of ourselves here since Cloak & Dagger has yet to air. It’s always fun to think about where they could take the show, though. The show starts this summer and the trailer above let’s us know that one will live and one will die.

Expectations for the show
With this being on Freeform, I’ll admit that I was a little skeptical. However, Freeform is a Disney-owned channel so it makes sense to keep it in the family. The trailers we’ve seen so far, though, give me some hope for this show. It actually looks like they captured the essence of these characters.
The first episode was screened at SXSW and people generally had good things to say about it. With the episode being screened so far in advance of its release, that’s a great sign. Aubrey Joseph (Cloak) and Olivia Holt (Dagger) work well together, so we can expect that to be a huge focus of the season. They’re the center of attention and if they have good chemistry, so much of this show will turn out well.

I expect that Marvel fans will enjoy the show. Hopefully, they let this show tie into the bigger universe like they did with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did for a period of time, but even if it doesn’t, I trust that they know what they’re doing. After critics not enjoying Inhumans quite as much, Marvel has a chance for some redemption with this one.
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger premieres on Freeform on June 7, 2018.
