Roseanne Season 10 Episode 8 recap: Netflix and Pill
Roseanne has knee pain and is in need of some medication.
Roseanne and Dan are celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary, and what better place than La Cosita Bonita? The Mexican restaurant where Becky works and is working during the event. Darlene takes advantage of the situation and gets her sister to start singing “Feliz Cumpleanos” with her maracas.
When the bill comes to the table, D.J. quietly passes it to Darlene while it suddenly slips into her father’s hand, and they are forced to pay for their own party. D.J and Darlene mention that since they are paying for the bill they should check their rewards. Lucky for them, and thanks to their credit consolidation, they have enough to get a hotel room for free. With that, they get a free Honey Ham, which gets Dan excited.
When Roseanne and Dan arrive at the Radford Suites, they promptly show their reward, but they need to have a credit card in case they decide to order a movie or take advantage of room service. The only credit card they have is handed over, but unfortunately, it is declined. Rosie feels cheated so on their way out, she decides to pick a few apples from the bowl in the lobby.

The Conners return home and decide to break out the Mexican champagne that Becky gave them for their anniversary. Roseanne with a couple of drinks begins to act quite weird. (Yes, even for Roseanne). She laughs at nonsensical stuff and then tries to knaw on Dan’s leg. This sends some red flags up for Dan.

The next afternoon, Roseanne comes into the kitchen thinking its morning and Dan is not too happy with her. He has found something. Pills. Several bottles worth. It has become apparent that Rosie has an opioid addiction due to her sore knee. Dan wants her to have surgery, yet, they cant afford the $3,000 deductible. Roseanne has her reasoning for hoarding the pills.
"“I got these pills because I’m going to be dealing with this for a long time,” Roseanne says. “And when your back goes out, you lay on the couch for two weeks, and I wait on you hand and foot. You know what happens when my knee hurts? I do the cleaning, the shopping, the cooking …”"
Dan takes the ones he found around the house and leaves for a walk. Roseanne, in the meantime, ices her knee. When she opens the top portion of the ice sack, she pulls out a bag that has several more bottles in it.

Notes:
- Best line: When Dan is told that the business center will be open for 24-hours at the hotel, he responds with: “Capital idea, I need to fax a copy of my ass to our associates in Singapore.”
- Crystal is retiring giving an opening to Becky, but she turns it down for her sister.
- Radford is a nod to the address where Roseanne is filmed in Los Angeles.
- Jackie had two great moments. The first when she turns paranoid sleuth in trying to find the missing drugs. Second, when she turns into a bird and starts flapping her arms to get some whip cream made just for the youngsters.
