The Americans: Season 6, series finale live stream
Is The Americans really over? Seriously? If so, this final episode is going to be an epic conclusion to one of the best television dramas ever.
To reiterate, The Americans appears to be ending. Despite the fact there are roughly 26 version of CSI, and there are rumors of Chicago: Waste Management being added to the rest of the franchise, The Americans is actually ending. It’s impossible to believe.
Based on the preview, however, the FBI will close in on Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Kerri Russell) as they’re trying to escape. Their continued freedom will depend entirely on the silence of Oleg Burov (Costa Ronin) and Father Andrei (Konstantin Lavysh) keeping quiet.
What to expect next
I did a pretty extensive breakdown of the possibilities I saw for the finale. I’d prefer The Fast and the Furious ending, but anything shocking will do. If there is one thing the writers of The Americans have done is keep us all on our toes. There’s a good chance that continues.
Leftover issues to address
We really, really need some Martha (Alison Wright) closure. If Elizabeth sacrifices herself in the series finale, there needs to be an epilogue where Philip travels to Russia with the kids. She can adopt Paige and Henry, and Philip can adopt her daughter (assuming she was allowed to follow through with the adoption). Change her name to Maartje, his back to Mikhail, and the let the kids start over with their own choice. Martha would probably be a better mother than Elizabeth anyway.

We also need some information on Kimberly (Julia Garner). Is she at home pining over Philip, or is she already on to the next guy? Honestly, Kimberly’s story might be the most compelling of them all. Massive daddy issues, completely oblivious to her father’s line of work, and willing to give a random weed dealer not only access to her father’s files, but also her virginity?
Here’s to hoping the final episode involves the EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle as a result of The Summit, and P&E use it to drive safely home from Czechoslovakia. It’s the end of The Americans, and somehow just about everyone is cheering for the Russians. America, what a country!
