John Stamos goes back home to Port Charles-What is he doing on the GH set?

A few of the General Hospital cast members got a surprise when John Stamos showed up.

It has been years since John Stamos graced the set of General Hospital, but the actor recently went back to his old stomping grounds. He was seen posing in a few photos that he posted on social media, as well as a few of the GH actors. He played the character of Blackie Parrish form 1982 to 1984. The ABC soap was his push into stardom.

What was he doing on set?

That is the big question that General Hospital fans want to know. Photographer Jim Warren captured some of the men in Port Charles hanging out with Stamos. While it would be totally awesome to have him back as Blackie, it looks like he may have only been there for a visit. He hobnobbed with an old friend, a new friend, and a couple of mobsters.

Longtime GH actors, Maurice Benard, Kin Shriner, and Steve Burton, were on hand to welcome John Stamos back. He also got to meet up with newcomer, Josh Swickard, who plays new detective Harrison Chase. The 54-year-old actor is now sporting a beard and looked happy to be back on the GH set.

He could very well have been in talks with execs on making a future return to General Hospital. After all, he did mention back in 2013 that he would love to return to the soap if given a meaty story line. So, the possibility is there. However, it may have just been a friendly visit.

Back in 2013, he had a little more free time to spare. These days he is heavily involved with the reboot of Fuller House, which is where he really became a well-known name. He is also a new daddy to his gorgeous little boy, Billy. But you just never know, there may still be some time in his busy schedule for a little daytime drama.

Who is Blackie?

For some of the newer GH fans who may not know who Blackie Parrish is, here is a quick rundown of this character. He came to Port Charles as a young troubled teen who ended up being adopted by Rick and Lesley Webber. He joined a band as a drummer for Frankie and the Riff Raff. Unfortunately, he got into more trouble and got sent to prison on charges of manslaughter for his role in his girlfriend’s death. Lou Swensen was also a member of his band.
