Dominic Zamprogna Leaving General Hospital, Heartfelt Messages Pour In

Dominic Zamprogna has confirmed that he is leaving his role as Dante Faloneri. 

The news has spread after Dominic Zamprgna confirmed this week that the rumors that he is leaving General Hospital are true. He has played the role of Dante Falconeri since 2009 and has been the heart of the ABC soap since then. He finally let the cat out of the bag in a special post on Twitter. The sad news has brought out not only GH fans who are heartbroken over this, but Dom’s GH costars have taken to social media to express their feelings on his exit as well.

His GH family

It is always hard to see a well-loved character such as Dante leave. It is especially difficult for the people who they have worked beside day after day to not have them around anymore. Zamprogna is obviously loved and respected on set by everyone. He has worked alongside pretty much every character on General Hospital and they have come out to show how much they will miss him.

Maurice Benard, who plays Dante’s mob boss dad, immediately posted a photo on Instagram of the two men hugging on set. He sent a heartfelt message with it as well.

"“Always very sad for me when great actors and great friends leave the show Dom was definitely at the top of that list was always looking forward to working with him didn’t happen enough”"

Dom’s TV wife, Emme Rylan, said that she is heartbroken over this, but that she is rooting for him. Many other GH stars did the same. They all mentioned how much they loved working with him and that he will be sorely missed.

According to the message that Dominic Zamprogna posted, it sounds like there may be a project in the works. He mentioned that there is more to come.

"“So you’ve been asking. I feel I owe it to you awesome fans to tell you that I’ve taped my final scenes. Going to miss you all and my GH fam. Good things happening tho. More to come.”"

This is exciting news for him, and it will be exciting for fans to see what is ahead for this guy. His buddy and former General Hospital actor, Ryan Paevey, left the soap a few months ago. He is starring in the “Mr Darcy” Hallmark movies and may have more projects coming as well.

What will happen to Dante?

There is now the question as to what will happen to this beloved character. Will he be killed off like Nathan in the line of duty? That would be especially heartbreaking. Or will he be replaced by a new actor? That would also be hard for fans to see as well.
