The Supernatural Season 3 premiere started with a bang and delivered some excellent lines. Here are the seven best.
After the shocking events of the Supernatural Season 2 two-part finale, we weren’t sure what to expect with the third season. However, the Supernatural Season 3 premiere made it clear that we’d get much of the same old, thrown in with some intense drama and demon problems. The first episode gave us the Seven Deadly Sins.
There were some excellent lines from the episode. Some stand out as firm favorites now while others had us screaming at the TV screens. Here are the seven best lines for the Seven Deadly Sins.
Well, I sold my soul. Got a year to live. I ain’t sweating the cholesterol.
Let’s start with gluttony. Dean only has a year to live and he wants to make sure he lives it the best way possible. It’s all about the women and the food–and in this line’s case it’s the food. Bobby notes that he’s eating bacon cheeseburgers for breakfast and he has a laugh-out-loud response to it.

Of course, the talk of women leads us to the line for lust. It’s all about Dean at the start of the episode with the twins. We get a mixture of fun, flirty, and pop culture rolled into one. Typical Dean!
No offense, but we’re not teaming with the damn fools who let the Devil’s Gate get opened in the first place.
This line gives us the wrath. Isaac is angry. The world is in danger because the Devil’s Gate was opened and a boat-load of demons were released. His anger is misplaced towards the Winchesters. This was the point that we couldn’t help scream at him. Where were the rest of the hunters when the Devil’s Gate was going to be opened by Jake? At least the Winchesters stopped it from being all demons!
And you call us sins. We’re not sins, man. We are natural human instinct.
This line comes from Envy, so we can use it as the line for this third sin. He makes a point that the sins aren’t quite sins. They’re natural human instinct, and that can certainly be true. Can we really hold back the envy, the lust, the anger, and everything else we feel? Those who say they can usually suffer from pride!
I’m the girl that just saved your ass.
Ruby brings in the pride element. She isn’t ashamed to make it clear that she saved the Winchesters and Bobby from the Sins that came looking for Envy. She makes it extremely clear that this won’t be the last time Sam sees her, either.
Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son.
Bobby gives us a line for greed and it’s a funny one. Whenever you need someone to tell it like it is and hold nothing back, you just have to look to Bobby. This is his advice for the day and something we can all follow.
You’re alive, I feel good – for the first time in a long time. I got a year to live, Sam. I’d like to make the most of it. So what do you say we kill some evil sons of bitches and we raise a little hell, huh?
Finally, it’s sloth but there isn’t one that really fits sloth. Instead, we have to go against what sloth is all about. We go against laziness and focus on Dean’s lines about wanting to get into the fight. The demons are out and there’s a war. Now it’s time for the Winchesters to put everyone back into their boxes–and you can’t tell me you don’t read that line with Dean’s voice in your head.
