BritBox in July 2018 sees the first service original The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco
BritBox is going the way of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. It’s bringing its first original series to BritBox in July 2018, while also bringing the best of British TV.
Streaming services like Netflix and Amazon are moving into bringing their own movies and TV shows. BritBox is doing the same in July 2018, bringing its first ever original, The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco. This is along with a list of the best British programs and movies, celebrating the likes of the Fourth of July (okay, not a British celebration but you’ll be taking the day off, right?) and Benedict Cumberbatch’s birthday.

As for the new original, it’s a continuation of the ITV/PBS drama The Bletchley Circle. Set in 1956, the new series follows Millie and Jean, played by Rachael Stirling and Julie Graham. When the travel to the States, they tackle new murder cases with a couple of U.S. codebreakers. The first episode will link to the parent show, as the serial killer is from their Bletchley war days.
Other notable mentions
This month will see “CumberBATCH to the Future,” which is to celebrate Benedict Cumberbatch’s birthday. July 19 will see the addition of two movies, along with the already powerful slate of dramas.
The Murdered By series is also a notable mention. The BBC Three series told four real-life stories of people killed due to the way they looked, their mounting debts, and those closest to them. It’s a BAFTA award winning true crime series that will be difficult to watch but is worth it.
