General Hospital gets a special visit from George Hamilton as Colonel Sanders

General Hospital is getting a very special visitor this week, and he may have a very distinctive smell of fried chicken following him.

This Friday, General Hospital has a special surprise waiting on Maxie West’s doorstep. In a strange turn of events, the one and only Colonel Sanders of the mega chicken franchise is heading to the ABC soap. But who is behind that tanned face? George Hamilton, of course!

National Fried Chicken Day celebration

That’s right! There is a special day coming up to celebrate those tasty, crispy pieces of fried chicken that has been a part of American homes for many years. Friday is National Fried Chicken Day and General Hospital is getting in on the action. EW posted a sneak peek of actor George Hamilton once again dressed up as the famous Colonel Harland Sanders.

Apparently, Maxie knows the colonel personally and he is paying her a visit while he is in Port Charles. The clip also involves Lulu Falconeri as she gets to meet him for the first time. She is weirdly excited about it, too.

Daytime Confidential first reported the news last week that Hamilton would be coming to Port Charles as part of a KFC promotion. In fact, it looks like they are getting into the ABC soap’s story lines as they have been tweeting up a storm about Nelle, Sonny, and the rest of the GH gang.

George just wants to have fun

It looks like Mr. Hamilton had a blast portraying the fried chicken king on the GH set. Photos coming from TV Insider revealed the fun he had on the soap that he declared on Twitter was his favorite as a kid. It also appeared that he may have done a little bit of flirting as well. Just ask Nancy Lee Grahn, who looked a little smitten by him in one of the photos.
