Misha Collins has a GISH wish

On Supernatural, Castiel helps save the world with the Winchesters. In reality, Misha Collins helps save the world with GISH.

In 2009, Misha started efforts that have led to a group now known as Random Acts. Soon the game began to evolve. Misha has led the masses to do some intensely freaking amazing deeds in past years. However, this round is looking even more promising.

What is a GISH?

GISH (formerly GISHWHES) is the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt and it helps raise money for Random Acts. It’s a worldwide adventure that lets weirdness rule and brings people together to break the molds, do strange and wonderful things, and build a better society. Also, some lucky animals love GISH because every registration gives you the option to save a cat or dog with some of the sign-up dollars. If you can’t afford to play on your own, some of the lovely people offer GISHolarships to help you; all you have to do is ask!

GISH is in its eighth official year and holds world records for the largest online photo album of hugs. The hunt runs for a week each year and this year the start date is July 28. Some groups play for the ultimate adventure prize, but some just want to have fun. Either way, these rebels with a cause are breaking out of their comfort zones while doing fun and love through tasks, projects, and adventures.

Teams can have up to 15 people and for those who do compete, the winners go on a trip to somewhere super. Last year’s team did a great job and recently took their trip to Hawaii, where we saw a video of them cleaning up a beach and having a blast on the water with Misha.

This year’s team will be going to New Zealand. No word yet on this year’s task list but there have been rumors about needing a Storm Trooper costume like in past years. I am making mine, how about you?
