The CW has a huge slate of DC shows. Here’s what we learned from their Supergirl panel at SDCC.

The CW scheduled a series of 45 minute panels for their various shows, many of which were the DC shows. To kick off the Supergirl panel, they showed new footage for next season. Sam Witwer will join the show as Agent Liberty and fans were able to get a look at his character, too.

It looks like Supergirl will receive a new suit as well with a helmet. Kara will also get more CatCo scenes, which she didn’t have many of in season three due to spending so much time away from Earth.

At the end of last season, we saw another Supergirl briefly and that appearance is inspired by Superman: Red Son, which will be explored more in the new season. Supergirl will also add a trans superhero to the cast with Nicole Maines playing Nia Nal. They’ve also added April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley and David Ajala as Manchester Black for season four.

More from Comic Con

The end of season three saw Jeremy Jordan’s Winn Schott took Brainiac 5’s place in the Legion. That mean’s we’ll be seeing more of the latter in the upcoming season with Jesse Rath now being a series regular. This was all previously announced, but Rath revealed that Brainy and Alex will have some tension between them this season.

With Supergirl taking a more grounded approach, we’ll also see more of the anti-alien sentiment that we saw in previous seasons. Just before the panel ended, there was a tease about Alex meeting Kate Kane, aka Batwoman, during the crossover. We saw Alex with Sara Lance in the previous crossover, but could Kate be a new love interest for her? We’ll have to wait until December to find out.
