Starz in August 2018 is going to be a big month for titles both coming and leaving the service. Check out all the details here.

It’s that time of the month again, where we find out which new shows and movies we’ll get to watch on our favorite services and those that are leaving. Starz in August 2018 is full of big titles both coming to and leaving the service, so if you don’t have the app yet then you’ll want to look at getting it.

The good news is many of the titles leaving are at the end of the month, so you have time. One of the most notable is Disney’s Wall-E, arguably one of the most underrated movies of all time. This isn’t surprising, as Disney is looking to move its titles on its own subscription service at some point. Many Disney movies have been leaving the likes of Netflix and Starz over the last year.

Cast Away and Top Gun are also leaving. It’s not clear where the two are going to yet, as that’s usually why titles leave one service or another.

As for titles coming, there are a lot of old-school movies making their way to Starz in August 2018. One of the highlights for me is the Meryl Streep and Bruce Willis 1992 comedy Death Becomes Her. If you haven’t seen this black comedy horror, then you’ll certainly want to put it on one night. You’ll be laughing within the first 10 minutes.

The biggest arrival is the Starz Original American to Me. The first trailer dropped last month and it’s going to be available in weekly installments from August 16. The Steve James documentary looks at a Chicago public highlight that may be affluent but it’s also segregated. This school sees test scores among the white students rise, while the black students’ scores have stagnated. It’s not just the students, either. The staff refuses to combine and mix, furthering the divide in the school.

Power also continues its high profile and successful fifth season. Here’s everything coming to and leaving Starz in August 2018 to get ready for the hottest month of the year.
