Critical Acclaim: Men in Black III was never nominated for any major awards. However, it did win and was nominated for a few smaller ones. Danny Elfman won the BMI Film and TV Award for Film Music. The movie was nominated for 13 other awards.
About the Role: Josh Brolin is Young Agent K. In other words, he’s the younger version of Tommy Lee Jones’ character. This is a guy that has to work with the agent he recruited without knowing that he’s recruited him. And all the while, Will Smith’s Agent J is trying to prevent him from being assassinated.
Simply the Best: So, the movie itself isn’t going to be a favorite for many. While I found it more entertaining than Men in Black II, nothing beats the very first one. However, isn’t that the case with 99.99999% of sequel movies?
That being said, Brolin is excellent. He picks up on all of Tommy Lee Jones’ quirks, making him an excellent option for a younger Agent K. This is a guy you can believe is the younger version of our favorite agent and that’s not always easy to pull off.
