The Emmy-nominated Netflix original series, GLOW, has officially been renewed for a third season!

Get your wrestling bags packed because we will soon be heading to Vegas. Netflix has officially announced that the mega-hit series, GLOW, is renewed for season three. The news comes shortly after the show was nominated for six Emmy awards including outstanding comedy series.

GLOW is a fictionalized series based on the real women’s wrestling circuit of the ’80s, the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. The Netflix show centers on Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie), a struggling actress who finds her way on a new wrestling show featuring an all-women cast. Among the cast of wacky in-ring personas is Liberty Belle, played by Ruth’s ex-best friend and former soap star Debbie (Betty Gilpin). The women have absolutely no wrestling experience but they quickly learn what it means to be in show business.

Season 2 of GLOW debuted on Netflix this past June and garnered positive reviews. As the women grew their fan following along with their own confidence as stars of the show, they were dealt with the challenges on network TV. With no other options, director Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron) and the ladies decided to leave behind the TV network and move to Las Vegas to perform live shows. But the question remained if viewers will follow along on their journey to Vegas.

That question is undoubtedly answered with the season three renewal. The setting of the series might be changing but the overall aesthetic will be more glamorous than ever. Who knows what kind of trouble the women will find themselves in Sin City. But it will definitely be exciting to find out. The series even got in on the fun with the official season three announcement.

Based on the previous season premiere dates, season three can probably be expected next summer, either June or July. The renewal should come at no surprise considering the hype surrounding the most recent season and the fan following the series has garnered since its initial debut.

The fact that GLOW features a primarily female cast became a major highlight. The series has also been praised for the way it handles topics such as the treatment of women in the entertainment industry and payment disparities among men and women.
