Richard Speight Jr. back in the directors chair for Supernatural Season 14, Episode 6

Richard Speight Jr. has already stepped in the director’s chair once for Supernatural Season 14. He’s doing it again. The tech survey for Episode 6 is now underway. What can we expect?

Note that from this point, we’re really just speculating and there are no official spoilers.

We know the title for the episode is “Curious Cravings.” This is certainly an ominous title, especially with someone like Speight taking over the directing. Remember, this is the man who has done the likes of “Just My Imagination,” “Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes,” and “Unfinished Business.” He does some of the creepiest and weirdest episodes, adding a twist of various styles to make the episodes pop.

Filming for the episode will begin on Wednesday or Thursday, as long as everything sticks according to plan. Considering how experienced they will all be on the set of the show, there’s no need for them to be pushed back at all.

The exact day will depend on whether the cast and crew take Labor Day off. They often do take holidays off, but there’s no confirmation of this for this year.

Will Gabriel return in Supernatural Season 14, Episode 6? That’s something we don’t know yet. A recent photo of the actor and director showed him with a beard, which suggests that he’s not stepping back into the role of Gabriel just yet. Angels always seem to be clean shaven, right?

Of course, Supernatural isn’t going to give something like Gabriel’s return away. His appearance last season was a major surprise for all and a pleasant one for many. There’s plenty of hope that he’ll be back and it’s not unusual for Speight to direct himself, but that doesn’t look to be the case this time.
