The Galindo Cartel is not going to rest until their drug shipments can be protected. That’s a problem for the Mayans M.C. since four members are complicit.

Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino) chopped off a Samoan gang leader’s arm just to get a little information in Mayans M.C. Suffice to say he’s going to do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of his multi-million dollar loss. Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo) may soon have to either betray his family, his MC, or face more time behind bars.

Even though the premiere was dominated by the men of the series, Adelita (Carla Baratta) might just be the most powerful person of the series at the moment. After all, she’s the one hitting the cartel shipments, and her operation is relatively untouched. That will certainly change in the near future.

That escalated quickly

Kill the devil and resurrect Mexico

Los Olvidados (“The Forgotten Ones”) and their creepy masks aren’t playing around. Adelita gives the kidnapping order, and they hit Emily (Sarah Bolger) immediately. The baby is obviously collateral, and just a pawn to use against her husband Miguel. Before executing the driver, the familiar phrase is uttered: “Kill the devil and resurrect Mexico.”

MC on the hunt

Angel Reyes (Clayton Cardenas), Johnny “El Coco” Cruz (Richard Cabral), Gilly Lopez (Vincent Vargas) and EZ are looking for a guy named Louie (Noel Gugliemi), the leader of a local two-bit organization called Dogwood. They want to question him about a potential new player in the area. Entering a house Coco gets shot in the face by a 7-year old with a pellet gun. The other guys tease him about it and call it a .45 caliber Hasbro.

Coco tells the kid to use a real, loaded gun next time because a toy gun will get him killed. When Angel critiques the advice, Coco says at 6-years old he had to shoot his crazy uncle. Coco is pretty messed up in the head.

Introducing Wonderland

Still on the hunt for Louie, the entire MC goes to “Wonderland,” a facility that’s part dog pound, part OD-recovery area, part racketeering operation. Dogs and addicts are both kept in kennels. A quick tour later, they give some money to the lady giving the tour, who is obviously a friend of the club. Then they notice a member of the Dogwood gang in a cage.

They use the addict to lure in Louie, who shows up as expected. Not the brightest guy, Louie speeds off as if he can outrun a handful of motorcycles. He consequently crashes and is forced to meet the Mayans M.C. face-to-face. Immediately apologizing, he says he didn’t know Coco’s sister was 16 when he had her do anal scenes for their porn website. Seizing the opportunity, “Bishop” (Michael Irby) renegotiates their current extortion deal, and says the rate goes from 12% to 24% until Coco’s grief has subsided.

The joke’s on Louie, however, because as the Mayans M.C. walks away, Coco reveals his two sisters are older than him and have thicker beards than Gilly.

Who can help?

More from FX

Two episodes in, and it seems like half the cast of Mayans M.C. feels helpless. Felipe Reyes (Edward James Olmos) talks to his deceased wife because he doesn’t know what to do with his sons. Emily feels completely helpless despite assurances from Miguel about the assets and crooked officials they have on both sides of the border. And Miguel doesn’t know how to get his son back. His confidant Devante (Tony Plana), however, has a good idea how to help.

Devante advises Miguel to call a meeting with the Mayans M.C. to help with the search and rescue. When they all eventually meet, there is a new, nefarious figure present. Nestor (Gino Vento) is the cartel muscle, assassin, executioner. Their enforcer. After a brief intro between Miguel and Marcus Alvarez (Emilio Rivera), Miguel tells the M.C. about the hit and the kidnapping.

EZ worriedly says, “Emily?” Miguel pauses long enough to indicate he might just know about the history between EZ and Emily before he acknowledge her safety.

Nevertheless, because Emily saw the license plate, Nestor is looking for the vehicle. A station wagon. Conveniently enough, EZ and his photographic memory saw the exact same car and license plate while driving after Louie.

Unlike his memory about the Samoans, EZ keeps his trap shut this time and doesn’t suffer Bishop’s wrath. He only tells his conflicted foursome

A viral video

Just after the initial hunt begins, Los Olvidados releases a viral video that serves as their manifesto, their recruitment video, and proof they burned all the stolen llello. Additionally, they dump leaflets with the speech all over Merchant Square.

The video was a mistake, however, because Nestor heard the jingle of the Escorpión/Dzec food truck in the background. The owner is in for questioning and swears he knows nothing. Then Nestor throws boiling grease in his face. Miguel calls him “a greasy f**king peasant.”

EZ whispers and Miguel asks what he said. EZ, “Maybe if you didn’t call him a greasy f**king peasant you’d still have your son.” This almost causes a throw-down between the MC and the cartel. Nestor, however, grabs the food truck guy’s son, with plans to grease him. Angel feigns a call from Dogwood to save the kid from his father’s fate. Subsequent to that threat Nestor leads his guys to Wondertown where the Mayans MC don’t take kindly to the cartel thugs roughing up their girl. A fight ensues, with Bishop and Nestor coming to a stalemate. But that doesn’t mean he stops the others from fighting.

Everyone has secrets

EZ is holding an obvious secret and wants to meet with Kevin Jimenez (Maurice Compte). His father, however, warns that going to Jimenez for help can only lead to problems.

Emily saw the viral video, so that secret is out. She realizes her son Cristobal was taken as insurance to ensure no retaliation. She wants Miguel to remain calm, but Devante has other plans. Along with Dita Galindo (Ada Maris), they tell Miguel that his brother Cristobal, who died as an infant, was really kidnapped by the Sonora Cartel and used to blackmail Miguel’s father out of the cartel. Acquiescence didn’t follow, and the baby was lost forever. Dita and her husband told everyone Cristobal died of pneumonia, and they moved on by getting pregnant with Miguel.

The revelation works, and Miguel sics Nestor, via Devante, to exact revenge. Then a bigger secret may be revealed: Dita says she doesn’t know if she hates herself or Devante more, implying what they just said was a lie.

Subsequently, the four secretive members of the Mayans M.C. meet with Adelita. She thinks she’s untouchable, calling herself a “name and a voice.” Then someone screams in the distance. The food truck guy and his son are torched corpses, lying prostrate with leaflets in their mouths. Apparently, Adelita’s secret is not as safe as she thinks.

Last but not least, Emily goes to Felipe’s shop to talk with EZ in secret. She asks for his help, and he informs her of the two innocents burned to death in Merchant Square. Before she leaves there is a longer than normal hug.

Two extra secrets!

Back at the Mayans M.C. hangout, the guys get with their version “crow eaters.” Coco sneaks off, obviously upset. He drives to the local hooker hangout and flags down a gordita with extra cheese. She leans in the window and says he must be really desperate. Coco barks, “Shut the f**k up and get in the car, mom. We gotta talk.”

Next. Mayans MC: Perro/OC Recap. dark

The final secret is Chucky (Michael Ornstein)! The serial masturbator is with the Mayans M.C. in their scrap yard! I accept that!!

Mayans M.C. airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on FX. Catch up now before you start to hate yourself more than Adelita hates the cartel.
