We’ve waited months to find out what’s going to happen in Vikings Season 5B. The premiere will be here in a little more than two months and here’s what to expect.

Vikings Season 5A ended with Kattegat falling into the hands of Ivar the Boneless. His alliance with the Franco forces was everything he needed to take down individuals and force Lagertha and Bjorn’s armies to flee. Now it’s time to figure out what to expect from Vikings Season 5B when it premieres in a little more than two months.

The series is premiering about a year since the premiere of Vikings Season 5. We can probably expect it to end around the same time and then likely the same wait for Season 6A. But that’s not the important part right now.

What is important is the answer to the question, can Ivar the Boneless be stopped? Now that he’s the King of Kattegat, it looks like he has it all. Of course, his changing moods and lack of loyalty to those closest to him will possibly set him up for failure.

From the look of the promo, Hvitserk switches sides and joins Bjorn in England. This could be a trick, but Hvitserk did start to regret his decision to fight against Ubbe and Bjorn. On the battlefield, he and Ubbe couldn’t kill each other. They’re family.

Meanwhile, we’re going back to England. Bishop Heahmund knows that the best way to stop Ivar’s and the Franco armies is by getting the English on side. Naturally, Lagertha is worried and it doesn’t look like she fairs well at first. The English are suspicious after the events last time.

This time, England has a new king in charge in the form of King Alfred. With his mother by his side, he’ll look to bring peace between the nations but it won’t be easy. After all, his brother is angry that Judith asked him to step aside for his younger brother–half-brother to be exact, as they only share a mother.

As for Floki, he’s going to have to deal with the aftermath of all the killing. The last we saw, he offered himself as a sacrifice to the gods, but it doesn’t look like he goes through with it. Floki isn’t one to lose faith, so what stops him from offering himself as a sacrifice? And what’s the future for Iceland?

We can expect plenty of fighting, plenty of betrayals, and plenty of bonding between characters throughout Vikings Season 5B. There’s not long now to see how it will all play out.
