Not long after her husband’s departure from the network, Julie Chen has stepped down from co-hosting The Talk.

CBS faced a blow at the beginning of the month, when the channel head took his leave following severe accusations insinuating he had engaged in inappropriate behavior with non-consenting women. Now, his wife Julie Chen also stepped down from co-hosting The Talk.

It was back in July of this year that Chen’s husband, Les Moonves, was accused of sexually harassing and intimidating six women. When September came along, another six came forward to give their statements, ultimately leading to Moonves’ departure from his role as head executive of CBS.

Chen’s decision to leave The Talk is said to have been focused around her determination to make her husband a free man from said allegations, and her need to spend more time with her family.  The 48-year-old officially announced her departure via a video clip, in which she teared up as she thanked the cast, crew, and fans, who have helped her build her career over the years.

CBS’s hit show Big Brother is perhaps what Chen is best known for hosting, and her resignation from The Talk has a slew of fans worried that she will next step down from this role. The mother of one, however, has not mentioned anything along the lines of quitting this job as well.

More from CBS

This is not the first time the CBS network has found themselves in hot water. A few years ago, several female cast members from the hit crime drama Criminal Minds were at something of a stalemate with the show’s producers in regards to how much they were being paid compared to the male actors.

However, eventually an agreement was reached which allowed said cast members to resign their contacts.
