None of these are that surprising. Many of the 13-episode orders are for freshman shows, which is normal. CBS often gets six locked in and then decides whether to extend after a few weeks. However, 13 episodes is often enough to tell a good story and I do believe more shows need to start running these shorter seasons.

You’ll notice that not all shows have been added to the list. Not all information is available, but we can make some guesses on season length based on premiere dates and previous seasons.

  • Magnum P.I.: Six to 13 episodes (many fall freshmans on CBS start with six episodes, although some will be offered 13 episodes. The seasons are then extended if performing well).
  • S.W.A.T.: 22 episodes based on SEAL Team having that number

    : Six to 13 episodes (Due to being a fall freshman series)
