How many seasons are available on Netflix?

Stranger Things seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix, with season 3 slated for a 2019 release.

What’s it about?

After a young boy, Will, mysteriously disappears into thin air, the 1980s series follows the town’s investigation, which leads to many more questions than answers and reveals a top-secret supernatural experimentation facility under the guise of the town’s energy lab. The science-fiction thriller weaves together the roles that the town’s local authorities, Will’s family and friends, a national organization, and a mysterious girl with supernatural abilities all play in trying to solve the mystery and bring Will back to them.

Why might Shadowhunters fans like it?

This one is a little bit more of a stretch, but if some of your favorite Shadowhunters episodes involve stringing together clues, uncovering mysteries and discovering new supernatural abilities, Stranger Things might just be your new favorite series. The storytelling is captivating and the ensemble cast brings a really enjoyable energy to the series. It’s definitely scarier than Shadowhunters, but it does balance the thriller moments with comedy and romance (and 1980s nostalgia). And if you find yourself binge-watching the first season, you’ll fall even more in love with season 2.
