Joanna has to take a step back from the case in the penultimate episode. Can Billy handle the case to win it in Burden of Truth Episode 9?

It’s the penultimate episode of Burden of Truth and that means the intensity is extremely high. Joanna is pulled off the case in Burden of Truth Episode 9 and it’s up to Billy to figure out a way to win. Of course, she may be off the case, but Joanna is still working on winning.

During this week, she’ll find a surprise witness who can help to take down the defense. It looks like this will be a way to take down counsel and not the actual defendant, which suggests the attorneys have been up to something. Why are lawyers always so shady?

Titled “Home to Roost,” Billy gets the files from the mill that the court ordered. Of course, the mill isn’t just going to give up the incriminating evidence and some of it has been redacted. That means going through boxes of potentially useless paperwork to find the one needle in the haystack.

Well, actually, there may be a few needles but Billy needs to figure out which box and with a small team, that’s not going to be easy. On top of that, the redacted information will require more back-and-forths with the court to get that information released. Oh, fun!

Expect a slight downward spiral in tonight’s episode but with a cliffhanger at the end. After all, the penultimate episode means a big showdown next week. Can Billy help win this case?
