Riverdale casts Riley Keough as mysterious woman in season 3

Producers of Riverdale have cast Riley Keough in season 3, and she will be playing Laurie Lake, an all-American farm girl.
Variety reports that Riverdale has cast Riley Keough in the upcoming season. She will be portraying a mysterious woman named Laurie Lake, and her character is described as an “all-American farm girl.” Riley will be guest-starring in one episode, there are no further details if she’ll be in more episodes. According to the source, Laurie’s character description is as follows:
"Her character is described as an “all-American farm girl” who takes in Archie (KJ Apa) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) after they wander onto her property in need of shelter, but what starts as a warm and possibly flirtatious interaction twists into a situation that presents “more danger than they could have imagined.”"
That sounds very intriguing and so does this upcoming season. I’m not sure about you fans, but I am a sucker for these type of storylines. It adds a dangerous element and it draws you in to keep watching. Basically, it has your undivided attention.

What makes it better? It seems it will add suspense to the scenes and that’s just the cherry on top. Riley has tweeted back in March of this year about wanting to join Riverdale. Her wish has been granted.
Season 3 is promised to be very dark and tense, which will be a bit of a contrast from season 2 and definitely a big contrast from the first season.
We see Jughead and Betty team up again to solve a new mystery in town. Fans can also expect to see a different side to Ethel as she’ll be taking a very dark turn this upcoming season. We’re also looking forward to Archie’s trial and heavy romance scenes between Toni and Cheryl.
Let’s not forget, we’ll also be seeing a much darker Hiram Lodge in Season 3. He was dangerous in season 2, so I can’t imagine how dangerous he will be now. It seems the producers are stepping it up a notch, especially with showrunner and executive producer, Robert Aguirre-Sacasa, tweeting a picture of Gargoyle King standing in an area in the woods.
Riverdale premieres on Wednesday, October 10, at 7/8c on CW. Are you excited about how dark they’re going in Season 3? Comment below!
