This week on The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon confronts an old grudge with his childhood friend Tam. Find out how everything went down on this monumental crossover event with Young Sheldon!

Last week on The Big Bang Theory, Raj was having second thoughts about going through with his arranged marriage with Anu. Also, life for the Wolowitzes was shaken up with Stewart bringing his new girlfriend around more and them being too loud with their coitus activities. In the end, though, everything turned in Raj’s favor and he learned that Anu really wanted to be with him.

This week a cool thing happened for the show with it finally acknowledging the storyline of Young Sheldon. In the episode, we learn what caused Sheldon and Tam to stop talking for two decades. Without further ado, here is everything that went down on the latest episode of The Big Bang Theory!

The girls confront Anu

The side plot involved Penny and Bernadette who decide to scope out Raj’s fiance and see if she’s safe for Raj. A number of things set off red flags for them like 1) she likes Raj and 2) she has a lot of connections that place her out of his league.

They both go to her work to check things out and Anu is completely aware of what they are up to. So, Anu agrees to go to dinner with Bernadette and Penny at a very expensive upscale restaurant so they can ask her all the questions they want.

The funny thing is the situation completely backfires on them. Anu ends up getting them both drunk and starts fishing for information on Raj. At first, they are hesitant but then start spilling the beans about how Raj bathes with his dog and cries when Hugh Jackman sings.

Anu makes a face that worried me that she might back out of the marriage but the episode ended without any problems. Well, except for Raj who was pretty angry that they told stories about him. Which does not phase Penny or Bernadette because they text Anu for a second dinner.

The trouble with Tam

The episode opens with Sheldon tweaking the marriage photos of him and Amy. In Sheldon fashion, he is superimposing historical figures like the Wright Brothers into the wedding pictures to improve them. As they are looking at the pics, Amy points out that he has received an e-mail from his old friend Tam (from Young Sheldon) who wants to know if Sheldon will give his son a tour of the campus. Amy ask him why she has never heard about him before, from the disgruntled and defensive Sheldon, it is clear because they had a falling out.

We also learn that none of the guys ever heard about him either. This leads to them to call Sheldon’s brother (Jerry O’Connell) and even he did not know about the grudge. So, instead of fishing around, they decide to just confront Tam in person to see what he did. To make matters funnier, not even he knows.

Once they confront him though, Sheldon shows up and the reason is so silly. It’s because Tam didn’t move to California when he did–when Tam had no control over that.

The plotline as always wraps up in a neat bow as his friends tell him he’s being irrational and he tries to mesh things out. Amy points out that his life might have been different if Tam came with him to California but Sheldon humorously misses the point. Leonard also tells him he’s being stupid.

After getting the sense talked into him by Amy he decides to resolve his grudge with Tam– in Sheldon’s own way. In the end, they hash things out and become close friends again.

Final thoughts

It was nice to see the show acknowledge the spin-off Young Sheldon this episode. It brings everything full circle and hopefully, this will not be the last time the show does it.

Also, I love how every other scene Bernadette and Penny humorously came close to sabotaging  Raj’s relationship in the girliest way possible. The entire scenario is beyond realistic and is something my sisters would’ve done. Overall though this was a great episode.
