Is Mickey Milkovich coming back in season 9 of Shameless?

This week’s Shameless will be one of the most emotional of the series as we say farewell to Ian Gallagher, but is Mickey Milkovich coming back in season 9 to say goodbye too?

Get your tissues ready, Shameless fans. Earlier this week, Cameron Monaghan announced that Shameless season 9, episode 6 would be the last episode for Ian Gallagher, and the possible return of two characters might kick the emotion up a few more notches.

In last week’s episode, “Black-Haired Ginger,” it was very heartwarming to see the family unite and come together to support Ian at his trial, and the scene with Lip and Ian bonding while splitting a gallon of ice cream brought us back to the days of season 1, giving us so many old-school Gallagher vibes.

Emmy Rossum posted a video on Instagram stories yesterday telling fans that Shameless season 9, episode 6 was “so emotional and so intense” that she sent her cast mates a video of herself crying after watching it, and we have a feeling that many Shameless fans will be in the same position come Sunday night.

Noel Fisher: Is Mickey Milkovich coming back in season 9?

Showtime has not made an official statement as to whether Noel Fisher will be guest starring in Ian Gallagher’s final Shameless episode, but fans have found evidence of Mickey Milkovich coming back in season 9, and there’s also a chance Mandy will be joining him.

We know that IMDB is not always accurate, but in this Sunday’s full cast list, both Noel Fisher and Emma Greenwell are credited. As far as the audience knows, Mickey Milkovich is still on the run in Mexico, but upon hearing of Ian’s sentence, could Mickey and Mandy be returning to give Ian advice and say goodbye? Or do you think Mickey could be a prisoner in the same jail?

Whether the Noel Fisher and Emma Greenwell rumors are true or not, we know this week’s Shameless is not one to be missed, and we just hope the Gallaghers can stay united one last time.
