Salem is not what you expect from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Netflix released a clip from the upcoming Chilling Adventures of Sabrina centered on Salem, and it is not what you are expecting.
If you were expecting the witty and sassy Salem from the 90’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch, think again.
Netflix released a clip from the darker take of the new TV series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina that is coming to Netflix from the creator and executive producer of Riverdale, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and the Salem scene is quite something.
The clip begins with Sabrina noticing an opened window in the house. After Sabrina closes the window, which appears to be her room, we hear a chilling voice and see a demon on the opposite end of her say, “I heard you calling in the woods” and “And I came.” Then, it appears the demon turns into a cat. Sabrina goes to pick up the cat, and it looks so innocent, but it’s certainly not.
This is the first time Sabrina meets Salem.

This is already a twist of things in the new Sabrina the Teenage Witch TV series such as it looking like a horror movie. I wonder if Salem will actually be talking, rather than it being a voiceover. I assume that would be preferred by the fans.
It appears this show will be great, it already looks spooky, and spooky is my middle name.
Halloween is also right ’round the corner and the first part of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is premiering on October 26.
That’s a good strategy part on Netflix, as viewers will want to watch something spooky for Halloween. I can’t wait to watch the first part and see how it turns out.
I’ve also read a comment on Deadline that someone has seen a test screening of the show at Warner Bros and they say it is excellent, very dark and creepy and that it will be a big hit. They seem correct, as that’s what I absorbed from this clip and the trailer that Netflix has released.
