Single Parents is the first comedy show of the fall 2018 season to land a full season order. This comes ahead of Episode 4 tonight.

It’s the guilty pleasure of the fall season and ABC agrees. Single Parents has become the first comedy show of fall 2018 to land a full season order ahead of its fourth episode tonight.

Whether you’re a single parent, have a partner by your side, or not even a parent yet, you’ll get the comedy within this series. And for those who are thinking about children, this is most certainly the show you need to watch first.

The full season order ups the season to 22 episodes for the multi-camera comedy. It’s an excellent sign for a second season, although this is still too early to tell. While the show debuted relatively strong in the post-Modern Family slot with 5.6 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the demo, it’s slipped each week. However, Deadline admits that the slips seem to be stabilizing and it does look like ABC has high hopes for what’s dubbed the No. 2 comedy in the demo behind The Conners.

This is one of those comedies very much like The Big Bang TheoryBrooklyn Nine-Nine, and Modern Family. It doesn’t rely on the bells and whistles of CGI and movie-level budgets. It’s a fun show that focuses on the comedy and on individual characters forming a group.

There’s something for all, whether you connect to the single dad whose daughter is his whole world, the single father struggling with twins, or the single moms with sons they just don’t want to see hurt. The best thing about this series is seeing how all these parents connect with each other and lean on one another to still have some sort of life outside of being parents.
