It’s all about money again on The Resident Season 2, Episode 5. After saving the hospital from others in the area making more than them due to the major incident, Dr. Bell is now looking at switching to a new medical device company. Here’s what to expect in “The Germ” and how to watch the episode live.
It isn’t that surprising Dr. Bell is looking at a new company for medical devices considering Jenna Dewan’s character is all about selling medical device products. There have been little clues along the way, and he’s obsessed with using these devices to boost the profits of the hospital. We’ve never been unaware that The Resident is all about the financial side of hospitals and how it can affect patients’ lives, highlighting the sad state of medicine in the United States (and anywhere else that makes health a privilege).

The doctors aren’t happy with the decision to move to medical devices. They don’t trust them because they’re not regulated as much. What’s going to happen to turn this storyline on its head?
Meanwhile, Nic and Conrad need to save a child’s life. Cancer is back and that puts the child’s life at risk. Everyone wants a future for him. I get the feeling that this is going to open more up for a conversation between the couple. We’ve started getting more from them, with Nic opening up about the miscarriage more now that they’re giving their relationship a second chance. Seeing more will be a positive step for the series.

While the people at the top focus on money, those “on the ground” focus on patient care. Doctors and nurses try their hardest to save their patients–the job they signed up to do.
