After watching the second episode of Legacies, the twist at the end of the series premiere wasn’t what we thought it was.

Wow, what a twist from Legacies series premiere. First, the show is making a name for itself. Like I stated in my previous article, Legacies isn’t relying on its mother show and it seems to be thriving as many fans seem to be enjoying the show so far.

I think that speaks volumes about creator Julie Plec as she knows how to write a show. May I also add that I love Danielle Rose Russell as the lead? She’s doing a fantastic job.

Creator Julie Plec surely got many of us (well, she got me) as Landon never killed anyone in the bus. We found out that a witch named Dragon killed everyone, and it seemed she knew Landon had the magic knife she wanted. She chased him into the forest and while Landon was running from her, the knife fell from his jacket, and Landon went to hide away from her.

Hope and Alaric found where Landon was hiding and they brought Rafael along. All three encountered the witch named Dragon, and her name surely lived up to expectations, as we found out she was an actual humanoid dragon. Dragon was looking for the magic knife that Landon had, but the knife fell on the floor so it was somewhere in the jungle.

Rafael was trying to help Hope kill Dragon by stabbing Dragon in the heart, but that didn’t work. Dragon literally turned into a dragon, then Hope was trying to kill her by casting a dark magic spell making Dragon transform back to a witch. Then it was followed by Alaric stabbing a knife to Dragon’s throat, killing her. We will never know why Dragon wanted the magic knife.

We learned that Penelope wasn’t actually into MG. She was using him to get back at her ex, Josie. However, we learned at the soccer game that MG liked Lizzie, and perhaps Penelope may help him with that.

The thing that stood to me this episode was seeing Hope’s strength and emotion. At the beginning of the episode, Hope was furious with Landon as she wanted the knife and was casting a spell on Landon until he gave the knife to her. He kept trying to tell her about what really happened in the bus, along with trying to explain Dragon the witch was after him but she didn’t believe him until Alaric went into the hideout and told them about the witch.

It turned out Landon may not actually be a bad guy after all. Especially when he left with Rafael and wrote Hope a letter telling her he lied to protect himself, but he ended up hurting Hope and he regretted that. Landon then revealed to Hope that the other day they spent time together was the best time he had and it was the happiest he’s been.

I loved the scene when Alaric saw the paper with the dark magic on it and he yelled at Hope for using it as it was a dangerous death spell. He told Hope “This is your father” regarding her using dark magic, bringing memories of Klaus. Hope cried after she disappointed Alaric, becoming a fatherly moment towards her. This emotion was a new side to her.

Last but not least was Alaric’s moments at home just being a dad and hugging his kids. Those touchy moments were great.

Legacies is definitely a show that you don’t want to miss. Great twists, suspense, and storylines. Next episode: Prepare for a Gargoyle to be hunting down people. Yes, you read that right!
