Roswell, New Mexico: Nathan Parsons talks reboot and the human experience of aliens
Next year, we’ll finally get to see the Roswell, New Mexico premiere. Nathan Parsons discussed the reboot and how there are human elements to his alien character.
Roswell, New Mexico was the second of two reboots from The CW for the 2018-2019 season. Based off the books rather than the 90s series, the show is a love story and a drama, according to EP Chris Hollier. There’s also going to be human elements to the aliens, according to Nathan Parsons, who plays Max Evans on the series.
Parsons sat down at NYCC to talk about the reboot, initially sharing how hard it was to do the initial press. Trying to promote a show that you don’t know much about and when you don’t want to spoil too much is never going to be easy. What was even harder for these guys was there were expectations of the original.

The hype is there, though. Fans are excited to see the series pull back from the 90s show and focus more on the books. And having Parsons, who is well known to True Blood and The Originals fans (still not over Jackson’s death), is certainly exciting.
One thing that is going to be fun is seeing this reboot take place 10 years after the books. There is a decade of life to fill in and Parsons makes it clear that it excites him. There’s been heartbreak and experiences that make him and Jeanine Mason’s Liz the people who they are. These 10 years will be filled in over the course of the series.
