Stan Lee’s cameos have been an important part of the Marvel franchise. It’s still possible to honor the legend after his death.

With the passing of Stan Lee, many have looked back over the funny cameos throughout the Marvel franchise. There are still some already-filmed cameos to come, but there is a question of whether Marvel could honor the legend posthumously.

The immediate answer is yes. And there doesn’t need to be any questionable CGI to do it. There are plenty of ways to add the legend into the movies and even continue this single character that he has played the whole time.

Make him animated

One of the easiest ways would be to add an animated version of Stan Lee into the movies. Yes, this works better for the animated movies, but there is a way to add him into others. If something is playing on a TV in the background, an animated version of the man could be added.

This would allow the use of prerecorded voice footage to allow him to talk. While not as good as him interacting with the characters on the screen, it would be a viable and amusing way to honor him.

Add photos, portraits like Alfred Hitchcock

Another option is to work Stan Lee into movies in the way that Alfred Hitchcock was added into many of his movies. I remember one movie (I think it was The Birds but I’m not 100% sure without rewatching all his movies) where there was a portrait of Hitchcock floating in the water.

Portraits and pictures are a quick and easy way to honor the legend that Stan Lee was. It could be a portrait in the Avengers Tower or one somewhere hanging at S.H.I.E.L.D.’s base.

If not a portrait, a picture of him on a TV. A news report of what this former delivery guy is up to now with the picture in the top corner. After all, Stan Lee played one character throughout his cameos and that character would be up to something somewhere!

These are just two ways of adding posthumous cameos in a respectful but still humorous way. They would allow the movies and shows to honor the legend while continuing his character’s storylines in one-off moments.
