Cowboy Bebop the live action series is coming to Netflix

Cowboy Bebop is finally getting a live-action series with Netflix and to say we’re excited would be a massive understatement.

The cult classic anime series Cowboy Bebop has been in talks to receive a live action adaptation for several years, but there has now been official confirmation that Netflix will become the home for the upcoming series. Since the series premiered decades ago, fans have hoped for some possible way to continue the story as a film or television series – with the series giving much more opportunity to tell a larger narrative.

Netflix nabbing the coveted franchise could be the live action anime adaptation we truly deserve based on the already thriving universe that has been established. Shinichiro Watanabe (creator of the anime series) will consult on the 10 episode project so you already know it will be off to a strong start.

Netflix additionally has an already impressive track record of handling series and dealing out a hefty budget, so we rightfully have high hopes for Cowboy Bebop and the endless possibilities for the crew of the Bebop bounty hunting ship.

The company that helped craft Cowboy Bebop, known as Sunrise Inc. will have involvement with Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki executive producing in a co-production with Tomorrow Studios Becky Clements and Marty Adelstein.
