Gotham Awards: A look at the star-studded event

Robert Hall Winery hosted the 28th Annual Gotham Awards earlier this week, here’s a look at the star-studded red carpet in case you missed it!

The 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards took place on Monday, November 26, and were sponsored by Robert Hall Wines. It’s the first of many more award ceremonies to come, awarding the best of the best!

Did you tune in to catch the live ceremony and watch Hollywood’s biggest stars take on the red carpet? If you didn’t, no worries! We’re here to catch you up.

Key celebrities front and center included Glenn Close, Adam Driver, Ethan Hawke, Elizabeth Reaser, Nick Kroll, Taylor Schilling, Richard E. Grand, Elsie Fisher, and Julian Schnabel.

All the presenters received half a case of Robert Hall’s red and white wine.

Some of the night’s winners include The Rider, which took home Best Feature.

Ethan Hawke won Best Actor for his work in First Reformed, taking down  BlacKkKlansman‘s Adam Driver, Ben Foster (Leave No Trace), Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) and LaKeith Stanfield (Sorry to Bother You).

Toni Collete took home the big prize for Best Actress, we did all expect her to win this one for her amazing work in the horror film Hereditary. Also nominated in this category were Glenn Close, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Hahn, and Regina Hall.

Fan favorite Elsie Fisher won Breakthrough Actor for the film Eight Grade, while Bo Burnham won Breakthrough Director for the same movie.

Did you have a favorite series this year? Alias Grace, Pose, Killing Eve, The End of the F***ing World, and Sharp Objects all received nominations. Although Sharp Objects was the predicted winner, Killing Eve collected the honor.

Next up in the award show scene are the 70th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards, which take place on Saturday, February 2, 2019. The BAFTA TV Awards follow on Sunday, February 10, with the Writers Guild Awards airing the weekend after that on February 17. Finally, the  one we are all waiting for — The 91st Oscars ceremony air on ABC on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
