Let’s kick this off with the synopsis. From The CW, the synopsis for tonight’s all-new episode of The Flash, episode 8 titled, “What’s Past Is Prologue” is: Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash come up with a plan to stop Cicada (Chris Klein). However, the plan calls for Barry and Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) to travel back in time to gather some key necessities. Barry hesitates, concerned about his daughter seeing certain parts of his life. Meanwhile, Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) takes his concerns about Nora to Iris (Candice Patton), and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) turns up a key asset in the fight against Cicada.

Not only is this the episode of The Flash before the huge crossover begins, but “What’s Past Is Prologue” is also special for another reason. Tonight’s episode was directed by Tom Cavanagh, who also stars in the series as Sherloque. Not to mention, “What’s Past Is Prologue” is the 100th episode.
