Tell Me a Story has officially been renewed. CBS All Access has picked up a second season ahead of the finale.

CBS All Access has followed its One Dollar bad news with Tell Me a Story good news. The Kevin Williamson-produced series has landed a second season ahead of its first season finale.

Tell Me a Story has taken some of the world’s popular fairy tales and reimagined them as a psychological thriller. The first season has used the stories of “Little Red Riding Hood,” “The Three Little Pigs,” and “Hansel and Gretel,” setting them in modern-day New York with an ending that you would never want to tell the kids at bedtime.

With Paul Wesley, Dania Ramirez, Danielle Campbell, and Michael Raymond-James, this is a series that has taken off. However, it’s not clear if all the stars will return.

The show is an anthology series, which means actors can come and go. Think of it as American Horror Story but with the fairy tale twist and on CBS All Access. We could see the same actors return to take on different characters.

So far, no details about the fairy tales that will be used for a second season have been confirmed. It’s not like there’s a limited supply! After all, the likes of “Snow White,” “The Little Mermaid,” and many more classics can be turned easily into psychological thrillers. Will Williamson use the routinely-used stories though? One of the benefits of the first season is that some of the lesser-used fairytales were adapted.

Tell Me a Story is released weekly on CBS All Access, which is CBS’ streaming site and available direct or through Amazon Channels. New episodes are released on Thursdays with the finale coming up on Jan. 3, 2019. This is excellent news so early into the season, and coming off the One Dollar cancellation, it shows the love the show is getting.
