4. Murphy’s Law Seasons 1 and 2

More from Entertainment

In 2003, James Nesbitt took on a popular undercover cop series, Murphy’s Law, and yes it’s was just as excellent as you’d expect a Nesbitt drama to be. As Detective Tommy Murphy, he was a broken man on the path of self-destruction. Guilt-ridden after the death of his daughter, he goes on an undercover mission with absolutely nothing to lose.

This drama will give you some powerful storylines, as it looks at the dangers of the assignments and drink mixed together. However, there’s still a little wisecracking humor throughout, which will keep you tuning in for all 11 episodes.

3. The Hour Seasons 1 and 2

Want something with a few more episodes later in January? How about something starring A Very English Scandal‘s Ben Whishaw and The Wire‘s Dominic West? You’ve got The Hour on Acorn TV. Both seasons will be available to stream as much as you want.

Set in Cold War-era Britain, the series is about a producer, anchorman, and journalist, as they look for the biggest stories possible. The Suez is on the brink of crisis and the three soon find that between the BBC and government, they’re in the middle of a political struggle. Can they find the TV that the British public want to watch?
